The history of RUUD brand began in 1897 with the invention of the automatic water heater with a gas tank for water storage by the Norwegian mechanical engineer Edwin Ruud. The brand is a subsidiary of Paloma Industries, as is the Rheem brand. Since 1950, RUUD has been involved in the implementation of heating and air conditioning equipment. Ruud is one of the few brands to offer products covering heating, cooling, conventional storage water heaters, tankless water heaters, solar water heating systems, spare parts and accessories for all categories.

Indoor Unit of RUUD Air Conditioner

In operating mode, the split-system RUUD air conditioner disposes a large amount of uncleaned air through the filters. Particles of dust contained in the air settle on filters and other parts of the air conditioner. Contamination is formed, which leads to an unpleasant odor from the air diffuser and noisy operation of the climate system.

    Ruud Air Conditioner Cleaning
    • Turn off the power. If the RUUD air conditioner was working before, wait half an hour for the insides to cool down.
    • Remove the front cover and the filters. Wipe the plastic parts with a wet cloth.
    • Use a soft brush to brush off the dust from the ribs of the heat exchanger and collect it with a vacuum cleaner. The fins are only 0.1mm thick, so they are easy to bend. Drive smoothly with the brush, from top to bottom. Keep hard brushes and hard objects away.
    • Pour the disinfectant into the sprayer and spray on the heat exchanger. Manually open the blinds and treat the fan drum.
    • Wait until the air conditioner is completely dry. Put back the filters and the lid. Only then turn on the network.

External Block of RUUD Air Conditioner

    • De-energize the device.
    • Remove the front grille. Wipe and set aside.
    • Take out the large garbage with your hands. The vacuum cleaner can handle fine dirt.
    • Cover the motor with plastic sheeting as a safety net. Although it is designed for rainfall, an intensive shower will not do him any good.
    • Do not bring the atomizer close to the radiator and adjust the pressure so that the plates are not damaged.
    • Leave the RUUD air conditioner to dry out and reassemble in reverse order.

    Some Useful Tips

    • Many manufacturers and sellers offer to conclude a service contract when buying. In this case, the first couple of years for cleaning the system will be the responsibility of professionals, who must perform all work absolutely free of charge.
    • Even if you do not have such a bonus, it is better to entrust the first cleaning to professionals. Watch their actions closely, so that you can act more confidently when cleaning yourself.
    • The air conditioning is an expensive thing, and it is stupid to kill it in an attempt to save money on manual cleaning. If you decide to do all the work with your own hands, then do not be stingy at least on special detergents. Special brushes are produced for qualitative cleaning of the radiator of the internal air conditioner unit.
    • The steam cleaner helps to get rid of dirt and mold.

      Popular Questions
How often air duct systems need to be cleaned?
Your air duct system need to be cleaned for the same reason as your house needs cleaning. It is recommended that HVAC systems be cleaned every 3 years.
Will air duct cleaning lead to lower energy bills?
HVAC systems cleaning can improve air flow up to 25%. That means your system shouldn't be running as long as it's supposed to. Less system uptime will reduce your energy costs and will lead to lower your energy bills.
Can dirty air ducts cause disease?
In homes with dirty air ducts, residents may experience symptoms similar to those of an allergy, including coughing, sneezing, and runny nose. Mold, dust, and other debris lurking in your ducts can also cause sore throat, headaches, and even dizziness.
How do you know if the ducts need cleaning?
There are several clear indications that the duct needs cleaning:
      • air filters get dirty too fast.
      • unexplained spikes in your energy bill.
      • signs of rodent or insect infestation.
      • dirt or dust around the vents and registers.
      • unexplained respiratory problems.
      • visible mold growth.
      • airflow isn't consistent from room to room.
      • noises in the ductwork.
How often should I have my vents cleaned?
A good rule of thumb for homeowners is to clean your ducts every three to five years. This is the minimum, as this is the length of time that it can take for the ducts to fill back up with grit and grime after a thorough cleaning. However, some homeowners are going to need more frequent cleanings.
Do you have a guarantee for your duct cleaning services?
